Advertising in any way, shape or form, whether intentional or not promotes cultural hegemony. Ranging from unrealistic and unhealthy beauty standards for women, to endorsing racial and gender stereotypes, advertising has become an inescapable presence in daily life. As such, one cannot help but be influenced by the relentless barrage of cultural ideals. Consequently, society has become burdened with the task of obeying a single cultural standard, and through this subservience continues to promote the hegemony.
